Free posters from the EPA

Teach your kids to care for the environment.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency is offering two free posters and a full-color brochure to anyone that wants them. Personally, I find this exciting because I homeschool. I'm always looking for educational materials and the posters work great to decorate our homeschool classroom. Of course, the posters would also be great for a child's bedroom, or for use in a public or private school setting.

There are two ways you can get each of the free items. You can call a phone number and request them, or you can order them online.

First, there is the “Estuaries: Scenes of Transition,” which was designed by John Dawson. The number to call is 800-490-9198. When prompted punch in the EPA document number EPA842-H-99-001.
The second poster is entitled "Keeping Our Oceans Clean and Safe." This is the more colorful of the two posters. You can get a copy by calling 800-490-9198 and punching in the document number EPA-842-H-02-001 when prompted.

Finally, you can request a free brochure, which shows several of the National Estuary Program's programs. Again, you'll need to call 800-490-9198 and punch in the document number EPA 842-F-99-001 to get the brochure. Of course, you can order all three of these items online if you prefer.

While your on the EPA website, you can also check out their games and activities page. This is a fun way to teach your children about the environment and what they can do to protect it. In fact, you can even make an entire lesson out of the games and posters. Maybe do some more research at the library and create a collage of what you've learned.
